Boulder's Naropa University must cut $1.2M from budget - Brittany Anas, Colorado Daily Camera
Boulder's Buddhist-inspired Naropa University needs to cut about $1.2 million from its budget, which could spell layoffs and a consolidation of programs at the private college. "It is likely there will be layoffs," said Stuart Sigman, vice president for academic affairs. Jobs could also be eliminated through attrition, Sigman said, and as positions come open the school will review whether they could be eliminated. Enrollment figures and donations to Naropa are on track with previous years, according to the school, but President Stuart Lord decided that permanent adjustments need to be made to balance the school's $22 million operational budget.
