When Florida A&M’s chief financial officer completed her overview of the university’s budget outlook for the next four years, a silence filled the ballroom this morning where the trustees’ meeting was being held. FAMU’s trustees appeared to be digesting the bad news that has played out time and again since the 2006-07 school year, as budget cuts have affected FAMU to the tune of $27.2 million. While the current school year is safe so far from additional cuts, CFO Teresa Hardee said the outlook is less promising for the 2010-11 school year. “The revenue picture does not look bright until May 2014,” Hardee said.
