Northeastern University Cuts Costs By Dropping Football - Jay Gilmore - All Headline News

Northeastern University is planning to drop its football program. The school has decided it can't afford the cost of a winning program. President Joseph E. Aoun and the board of trustees endorsed the move Friday, saying they are unwilling to invest the millions of dollars needed to improve the team. Peter Roby, the schools athletic director, looked into the issue for two years. They've had six straight losing seasons and low attendance.
