MSU: Tuition Hikes, Layoffs Loom If Budget Cut - WLNS Lansing, Michigan

MSU President Lou Anna Simon says the school might have to lay off more than 700 workers or raise tuition by 8.9% to make up for budget cuts proposed by Governor Jennifer Granholm. The school could also opt for some combination both. According to Simon, the governor wants to reduce the amount of money MSU gets from the general fund by almost $10 million.
