Cal State East Bay to Reduce Enrollment - KCBS

California State University East Bay has announced it will accept between 3 and 500 fewer students this upcoming school year due to budget constraints. The announcement follows the governor’s approval of the state budget Friday which heavily slashed education funds in an effort to try and balance the state’s $42 billion budget deficit. As a result, California State University Chancellor Charles B. Reed says plans to reduce enrollment by about 10,000 students at all of the Cal State’s 23 campuses will go ahead.
