Most popular Cal State campuses tighten admissions - MARLA JO FISHER, The Orange County Register
Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Long Beach both plan to cut enrollment for fall by about 1,500 full-time-equivalent students, making them two of the hardest hit in the 23-campus CSU system. This will be the first time in nearly 20 years that the California State University has been forced to reduce its enrollment, by a total of the full-time equivalent of 10,000 students, in a year when applications for admission have been soaring. The most popular CSU campuses – Fullerton and Long Beach among them – are expected to take the biggest cuts, as they have usually accepted more applicants than their official enrollment caps allow.
