Students at Arizona's three state universities could see their fall enrollment bills go up by several hundred dollars, on top of recently approved hefty tuition increases. The presidents of Arizona State, University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University are proposing tacking on "economic recovery surcharges" to tuition bills to make up for cuts in state funding. UA is considering a $1,000-per-student annual surcharge, while NAU is looking at a surcharge and fees of $435 or less. ASU officials were still finalizing a proposed surcharge amount and are expected to have a final figure today.
