Colleges and universities now favoring wealthy students who pay full tuition - Ryan Simmons, College News

Colleges more mindful of the size of students’ wallets--specifically, those who can pay full tuition. Institutions of higher education are facing increasing financial difficulties as the value of their endowments decline and record numbers of students are applying for loans, scholarships, and other aid. It is no surprise, then, that they may begin to look more favorably on wealthier students this year. Colleges and universities are looking for applicants who can pay the full tuition, including taking more students from transfer and waiting lists who have deeper wallets.
