Iowa asks medical college workers to take voluntary cuts - Diane Heldt, the Gazette

Employees at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and at the UI Carver College of Medicine can volunteer for pay cuts or reduced vacation as part of budget-cutting efforts. The two voluntary programs were announced by UI Health Care officials Tuesday, part of ongoing efforts to reduce expenses in a declining economy. All eligible UI Hospitals employees and Carver College faculty and staff can volunteer for a temporary pay cut for 2009-2010. In addition, UI Hospitals employees can give back one or more vacation days.
