University reps come together at meeting - Alison Jaeger, The News Record (University of Cincinnati)

High on attendees’ priority list was UC’s new budget model — performance-based budgeting. Within the model, individual colleges and non-academic units are assigned thresholds to reach for budgeting considerations. For colleges this can mean increasing enrollment, cutting costs or both. Incentives exist for colleges and units that surpass their thresholds, according to interim president Monica Rimai. Concerns include the costliness of certain programs among a struggling economy and the difference in the structure and available space of units.
