ISU cuts tennis programs in budget reductions - Associated Press

Indiana State University is scrapping its men's and women's tennis programs as part of its efforts to cut $350,000 from its sports budget. The indefinite suspension of the tennis programs affects 12 student-athletes -- seven men and five women -- who planned to return to ISU, as well as coach Malik Tabet and assistant coach Martha Montoya. Athletic director Ron Prettyman said he had to cut $350,000 from the Intercollegiate Athletics budget in a way that affected as few students, staff and coaches as possible.
