"What's happened to the funding of higher education in Minnesota is a very great threat to our state and its future — and it's a serious retreat from what used to be the case in Minnesota," said David Lebedoff, a Minneapolis lawyer and author who formerly chaired the U of M's Board of Regents. "If you want to put it in dollars and cents — nothing, nothing is more important to the economy of this state than high-quality higher education that is accessible to the people of this state," he said.
