Enrollment Numbers Show Drop in Freshmen, Jump in Community College Transfers - Rachel Gross, Daily Cal

While the university witnessed a drop in incoming freshmen who accepted their admissions offers for the fall, the number of community college transfer students admitted rose by 12 percent, UC officials announced today. A total of 36,481 freshmen submitted statements of intent to register, as compared to 39,212 last year-a number in line with the university's goal to cap freshman enrollment by 2,300 students this year. Community college acceptances reached a record high according to university data, with 19,607 students accepted to UC campuses for the fall.
