Iowa State University’s budget for next year is $38.3 million leaner than last year’s no matter how it’s sliced, and President Gregory Geoffroy said Thursday that up to 100 layoffs are possible. Nearly every campus unit has been told to cut costs in fiscal year 2009-10 to deal with lower state appropriations and unavoidable cost increases, despite a $22.5 million gain in tuition revenue, Geoffroy told the Iowa Board of Regents Thursday.
