How budget crisis might affect O.C. college students - Gary Robbins, Science Dude

There’s still a lot of “squishiness” in the numbers. The state hasn’t told Orange County’s public colleges and universities exactly how much money they’ll have to cut this year and next to help balance the state budget. But a working analysis of the situation suggests that that local schools could lose about $125 million, a figure that would lead to significant cuts in enrollment, jobs and the number and variety of courses, which could lengthen the time it takes some students to earn a degree.
