Jobs, including teaching positions, are on the line at the University of Minnesota, and the school may be at a cross roads, according to President Robert Bruninks. Even higher education is not immune from the downturn in the economy, with about 1,200 jobs on the potential chopping block at the university, according to Bruninks. From those jobs, the school says 200 could be faculty positions. "We do need to strive for increase levels of productivity at the University of Minnesota and that may indeed may require additional cost cutting over the next several years," Bruninks explained.
