Fresno State restricts spring applications - Cyndee Fontana, The Fresno Bee

Nearly 2,000 students could miss out on Fresno State's spring term because of budget-driven restrictions on applications. California State University officials on Thursday cited massive budget problems in closing off applications for spring 2010. Typically, the 23-campus system admits about 35,000 students for that term. Friday, Fresno State officials projected the local impact. Said Bernie Vinovrski, associate vice president for enrollment services: "Fresno State, unfortunately, must shut the door on approximately 2,000 eligible students because of the state budget problems."
