Ramapo increases tuition, fees 12% - PATRICIA ALEX, the Record

Tuition and fees for students at Ramapo College will rise more than 12 percent in September.
The college was able to circumvent a state-mandated 3 percent cap for the 2009-10 school year by assessing a separate capital improvement fee of $1,000 — $500 per semester — for each full-time student. Ramapo's tuition and fees will now be among the highest at the state colleges, topping out at $12,088, up from $10,765 in 2008-09.
