Tuition rises, enrollment declines at IU - Ray Cortopassi, WTHR

While fewer freshmen will walk onto the Indiana University campus this fall than last year, the school does not believe a recent tuition increase is to blame. Fall classes are still a month off, but summer instruction and academic activities are in full swing at IU. To pay for it all, the school raised tuition for in-state students 4.5 percent. For out-of-state students like Maddy King, it's much tougher. "My second year I'm good, but I'm seriously considering shortening my length of time at the school because I think I have to, because I can't afford it," said King, a sophomore.
