At Utah Valley University, Erin Fleming knows she won't be able to graduate on time because the classes she needs aren't offered when she needs them. And things will only get worse for students at Utah's public colleges and universities if the state's system of higher education is forced to absorb further budget cuts next school year, higher education leaders said Friday.
Fearing cuts that could mean enrollment caps, faculty losses and even fewer class offerings, the State Board of Regents decided Friday to ask the governor and lawmakers not cut higher education next school year any further than the 9 percent cut this year
