Liberal arts, agriculture colleges at Iowa State University hold budget forum - James Pusey, Ames Tribune
Elimination of faculty searches, not filling open faculty positions now or in future, transfer of faculty to other departments and the reduction of undergraduate and graduate majors are all possible realities facing Iowa State University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, faculty and staff learned Tuesday. Deans Michael Whiteford, of LAS, and Wendy Wintersteen, of the College of Ag, hosted a forum to exchange ideas on how to face the bleak budget future. Both said they are looking for any input they can get from staff in responding to President Greg Geoffroy’s call for restructuring.
