Indiana University South Bend braces for more budget cuts - MARGARET FOSMOE, South Bend Tribune

Despite high enrollment, Indiana University South Bend is bracing for its share of nearly $60 million in budget cuts ahead for the university statewide. IUSB enrollment is at least 7,321 students for the semester that started Monday. "The strong enrollment does not erase the problems with the budget, unfortunately," IUSB Chancellor Una Mae Reck told faculty members Friday. Because of state budget shortfalls, Gov. Mitch Daniels in December ordered a cut of $150 million in the current budget for Indiana's public colleges. IU's share of that will be $58.9 million.
