IU looks for ways to trim budget after state cuts - Associated Press

Indiana University is looking for ways to trim nearly $60 million from its budget to cope with state cuts in higher education spending. Gov. Mitch Daniels last month announced higher education cuts of $150 million because state tax revenues were far below previous projections. Indiana University must cut $58.9 million from its budget over the remainder of the state's 2-year budget cycle. University officials are asking IU campuses around the state to submit plans on how to cut costs without affecting the school's core academic missions of teaching and research.
