LSU faculty says cuts to hurt standing - JORDAN BLUM, the Advocate

Graduation rates and LSU’s academic accreditation are gravely at risk because of higher education budget cuts and pending layoffs, professors said Wednesday during the university’s first Faculty Senate meeting of the year. LSU is sending out more than 300 notices this week to instructors informing them they may not have jobs after 2010. Other notices to part-time instructors and staff who do not require 12-month termination notices are likely in the future.
