NSU to cut $2.2 million from budget - Shreveport Times

Northwestern State University is implementing a budget reduction of more than $2.2 million over the final six months of the 2009-10 fiscal year, NSU President Dr. Randall J. Webb said today in a news release. The reductions are necessary because of declining state revenues that resulted in a $247 million mid-year budget reduction in state government spending. Higher education institutions were hit with $84 million in mid-year cuts. The reductions “will have a negative impact on programs and services at the university and could have a negative effect on enrollment, graduation rates and student retention,” he said.
