UH faculty challenges pay cuts - by Nanea Kalani, Business Journals

The union representing 3,200 University of Hawaii faculty members has filed a grievance against President M.R.C. Greenwood over imposed salary cuts that took effect Jan. 1. The union wants Greenwood to retract a letter she sent to faculty on Dec. 28 that said UH would impose a 6.6 percent cut on most professors’ salaries starting Jan. 1 as the UH system faces a budget shortfall of $155 million over the next two fiscal years.
