Indiana University pares work force by 100, cuts travel to help meet state-ordered budget cuts - Associated Press

Indiana University has eliminated more than 100 jobs as part of $59 million in state-ordered budget cuts. Chief financial officer Neil Theobald says IU began making cuts last July in anticipation of reduced appropriations after state revenues continued to fall far short of projections. Theobald told IU trustees that about 40 percent of the cuts came through personnel attrition after the university instituted a policy of replacing every two jobs lost with one position.
