Some Napa Valley College employees must take one furlough day a month starting July 1 as part of the college’s updated, multi-pronged strategy to weather state budget cuts. The college is undertaking other cost-cutting measures, including:
• a 50 percent cut in summer school classes;
• the summer closure of the college’s child development center;
• approval of at least 37 early retirements, according to a statement from the college released Friday.
