You might have read in the last issue of The Campus that the Student Service Fee will increase by 5 percent next semester. The story reported the fee increase was deemed necessary to offset the universitywide budget deficit resulting from a decrease in enrollment. What the story did not mention is Student Publications is the only program funded by the fee to receive a cut in funding. The program will receive $15,000 less than the $120,000 it received this year. Officials said the “reduction was necessary in the current budget climate.”
