Two-year colleges see increase in applicants - Allison Wickler, Herald Times Reporter
Fall 2010 enrollment totals at the University of Wisconsin-Manitowoc probably won't be clear until into the summer. But if the increase in applications the school has received is any indication, enrollment could be higher than in fall 2009. As of March 31, the 253 applications UW-Manitowoc had received for fall was 35 percent higher than at the same time last year, said Julie Dezeeuw, assistant dean for student services. Many of the 13 two-year University of Wisconsin Colleges saw large enrollment increases last fall, Dezeeuw said, but UW-Manitowoc seemed to lag behind that trend. This year, UW Colleges applications are up a collective 10 percent from last year, the system announced in mid-March.
