In view of State of California's economic woes and the cost of education imposing those woes on students in terms of tuition, fees and services, UC Berkeley under duress from students, hired Bain and Co, a Massachusetts consulting firm, the Contra Costa and SF Chronicle reported today. Their report: $73 million by 2013 will be reduced from the costs now present at UC Berkeley if measures that are recommended are taken by the University. Waste, duplicate payments for similar or same services and overlapping job functions all point to a reduction in venues serving the university.
