Geoffroy presents budget reductions, ISU faculty and staff respond - James Pusey, Aimes Tribune

Iowa State University President Greg Geoffroy summarized the university's budget reduction strategy, while ISU faculty and staff representatives voiced their concerns at the Iowa Board of Regents meeting in Iowa City today. Geoffroy said the university has lost nearly $60 million in state appropriations since July 2008, a 20.7 percent total cut. To battle these severe reductions, the university plans to eliminate some departments and academic program, reorganize others and narrow its focus on parts that are crucial to the university's mission.
