Protesters with the Georgia Students for Public Higher Education rang the 175-year-old bell for the same purpose it had been used in the past, according to one student, Allie McCullen - sounding an alarm in times of emergency.
"We consider how the University of Georgia will implement budget cuts to be an emergency for students," McCullen said.
