34 lose jobs at NSU to budget cuts - The Associated Press

State budget cuts have led Northwestern State University to send pink slips to 26 full-time employees and eight part-time employees. The terminations will take effect July 1, the start of the new fiscal year. The job cuts are part of NSU's continuing efforts to offset about $9.7 million in state budget cuts over the past 18 months and projected future reductions. NSU President Randall J. Webb said the terminations involve 17 full-time civil service employees, nine full-time unclassified personnel and eight part-time unclassified staff members. This will reduce personnel costs by about $1.072 million.
