San Jose State taps Kassing as interim president - Lisa M. Krieger, Mercury News

Respected former San Jose State President Don W. Kassing has agreed to return from retirement to lead the campus for a year. He'll again run the campus after yet another university president stepped down and during a critical time due to state budget and enrollment pressures. Kassing, who first came to SJSU in 1993 and served as president from 2005 to 2008, will take office in August following the departure of the current president, Jon Whitmore. He will stay until a formal presidential search is completed in 2011.
