Skagit Valley College avoids layoffs in 2010-11 budget - Aaron Burkhalter, Skagit Valley Herald

Classes at Skagit Valley College might be a little snug next year, but at least no programs will be cut or professors forced to leave. The Skagit Valley College Board of Trustees passed a 2010-11 budget Wednesday that included $1.6 million in cuts. The deficit came mostly from state funding cuts. Much of the savings stemmed from the retirements of full-time professors.
