Albany inaction could wreck Tompkins budget - Stacey Shackford, Ithaca Journal

Tompkins Cortland Community College President Carl Haynes also reported on actions the college might have to take in response to a potential loss of $285 per full-time student. Haynes said he has already had to make reductions to accommodate a $130 loss per student, including two staff positions, and now expects to add at least 4.5 full-time equivalent jobs to that loss. Higher-than-expected enrollment increases may be the college's salvation, and Haynes said he is hopeful he will be able to manage without having to dip into reserves.
