Budget cuts at two local community colleges have caused thousands of students to place their education plans on hold this summer. At Grossmont and Cuyamaca colleges, budget problems were cited by the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District as the reason for drastic cuts to summer school classes. 10News learned $10 million was cut from last year's budget at the schools, and another $15 million will be cut this fall. A total of 4,000 students were on the wait list for summer classes at both Grossmont and Cuyamaca, but summer offerings were reduced by 50 percent.
