Georgia university system could face setbacks in FY12 - Cade Fowler, WALB
The Chancellor of the University System of Georgia says the state's higher education budget crunch could get even worse. Erroll Davis met with faculty and students at Albany State University today and talked about the current budget situation facing public colleges and universities throughout the state. He says legislators did they best they could to fund the system this year but the budget problems could get more severe in a couple of years. "I think that FY11 will be an acceptable year for us. I think we'll make it through. I think we'll make our commitments. I am more concerned at this point about FY 2012 when $1.5 billion of federal stimulus funding leaves the education budgets of this state," said Davis.
