Protecting the mission at LSU-Alexandria - the Town Talk

LSU-Alexandria has been directed by the LSU System to cut $2.6 million from next year's budget, a reflection of that fact that federal "stimulus" funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 will have disappeared. The administration is sitting on more than half of the $792 billion in borrowed stimulus funds, but no one should build a budget based on non-recurring revenue and political whimsy. LSU-Alexandria Chancellor David Manuel and his team have proposed cuts that, if enacted, will be painful for many.
