SCSU coaches react to budget news - Andy Rennecke, St. Cloud Times
After the St. Cloud State football team found out Tuesday that its sport could possibly be cut due to a $500,000 budget deficit in the athletic department for 2012, the Huskies had their best practice of the season. Longtime defensive line coach and former head wrestling coach Steve Grimit couldn't have been prouder of the way the Huskies handled the adversity. "The biggest thing for us as coaches is that we're going to coach the best we can. That's our No. 1 priority," said Grimit, who has been at SCSU for more than 17 seasons. "We're still kind of digesting what has gone on. It's tough to have a reaction. The only thing we can do is keep coaching. "We had one of our best practices (Tuesday night) after everybody had heard about it. The only thing we're worried about is Augustana on September 4."
