The Maricopa County Community College governing board is considering raising property taxes as it prepares for increased student enrollment. The taxing issue is expected to be discussed during a public hearing June 14. About 60 percent of the district's operating budget is generated by property taxes. The East Valley Tribune reports the proposed increase in primary property taxes would result in $101.23 in taxes on a $100,000 home, as compared to $98.28 per year if the district did not maximize its levy.
