The New Mexico State University Board of Regents approved one of its leanest budgets in years at its last regular meeting of the semester Friday, affecting all campuses throughout the state. The regents unanimously approved the $715 million budget - $616.3 million in operating and $99 million for capital outlay projects. The budget reflects an almost $18 million decrease in state appropriations, as well as a $1.4 million drop in federal sources, said Angela Thornberry, interim senior vice president for administration and finance.
