Oklahoma Senate passes $6.5 billion state budget, minus key provision - Barbara Hoberock, Tulsa World

Sen. Steve Russell, R-Oklahoma City, said he was pleased with cuts made to the education sector. He said the state has more college campuses than Texas, which is a larger state. He also raised concerns over the pay of college presidents. "I'm always amused when people cry about how much we are hurting the people of Oklahoma because we don't bleed out more dollars for education," Russell said. "It just breaks my heart."
