Gov. Scott Signs an Unpopular Budget - John Morgan, Ft. Myers Examiner
Florida Gulf Coast University had a cut of $4.5 million that they were going to use create a new health professions hall as well as another $5 million that they're going to use creative research hub. Gov. Charlie Crist and also vetoed this project in 2010. WGCU which is a public broadcast station that can be found both on radio and television also only received 10% of their initial funding request of $522,000. Edison State College also will not receive the $6.8 million funding request nor to renovate and remodel buildings at the Fort Myers campus. A lot of the buildings on this campus are more than 30 years old. Some of them do not match current safety codes.
