Higher ed bosses relieved budget cuts were eased - Melissa Ludwig, Express-News

That was the theme for the regular legislative session that ended May 30, and higher education was no exception. State lawmakers are in special session to work on public school financing, but the budget for higher education is unlikely to see major changes. Considering the severity of the initial bare-bones budget proffered by House Republicans, community college and university leaders say they are relieved that cuts to general revenue and financial aid are not as deep as originally proposed.
