UW, Schools Voice Concerns About Budget Measure Affecting Internet - Associated Press, Channel 3000

A provision put into the state budget bill late last week could have wide-ranging affects for the University of Wisconsin and public schools around the state. Items addressing Internet and network access were added in with changes to the UW System on Friday. The provisions deal with telecommunications services, and prohibit the Board of Regents, UW System, any UW Institution or UW Extension from providing telecommunications services to any public or private entity. It also prohibits them all from collaborating with any entity that provides those services.
