Capella University announces layoffs - Kevin Gilligan, BizJournals

Capella Education Co., which owns online school Capella University, said Tuesday it will layoff 65 employees by the end of the year. Minneapolis-based Capella said in a news release that represents about 4 percent of its non-faculty workforce. No faculty members will be laid off, the school said. The layoffs will cost the company about $1.4 million in the fourth quarter, but it expects the moves will save it $5.5 million next year.
