President Elson S. Floyd has announced that University Publishing and Marketing and Creative Services, which were once part of University Relations, will now report to Viji Murali, vice president for Information Services and chief information officer. The change is effective immediately. In August 2010, the university announced a reorganization plan that consolidated several administrative units and reduced the number of vice presidents from nine to six. The decision not to fill the Advancement and External Affairs vice presidency at this time further reduces the number of VPs to five.
