Truman State to ‘consider’ use of reserve fund to boost state budget - Jason Hunsicker, Daily Express

Truman State University has been asked to consider walking the fine line between helping the state economy and hurting its own financial situation with a unique proposal from Gov. Jay Nixon’s office to curb Missouri’s fiscal woes. An Associated Press report Friday stated Truman was among five state universities asked to consider contributing part of their financial reserves to help fill a massive hold in Missouri’s budget for the next fiscal year, and simultaneously avoid a more damaging cut in state appropriations that would be needed to fill the same gap.
